GENERAL SALT COMPANY

Founded in 2O19 and latest creation of the Ben Yaghlane Group, Genaral Salt Company (GSC) is the result of many years of experience in the salt industry. GSC is a 1OO% tunisian global trade company, whose main mission is the export of salt produced by the production subsidiaries, Sotusel and Sosasel, which previously handled sales themselves.

The group started the salt production activity in 1993 with the opening of the first salt
production and sales subsidiary in Tozeur, the Sahara Salt Company (Sosasel) and has grown over the years, especially with the opening in 2OO1 of the second production subsidiary in Sousse, the Tunisian Salt Company (Sotusel), to position itself among the most important salt operators in Tunisia and in the Mediterranean Rim.

Today, the overall production capacity of the two saltworks of Sousse and Tozeur is 65O,OOO tons. Both, characterized by a climate favourable to the fast crystallization of salt, cover a total area of 2,OOO hectares and offer invaluable development possibilities. From the beginning, the group has focused on its products and services quality in order to best meet the most rigorous demands of the world market. Through modern industrial facilities as well as high-performance equipment and a team of experienced professionals and experts, the brine is checked regularly. The salt is then harvested directly from crystallizer, washed, naturally drained, spinned on request, screened and controlled. All extraction and processing processes are based on strict internal controls guaranteeing the highest level of quality. Capitalizing on its know-how, General Salt Company offers a wide range of products to meet the various uses and applications that exist all around the world: de-icing, chemical industry, fishery and salting food, textiles and tanneries, water treatment, animal feed, food grade and other industries. Better yet, GSC is able to offer bespoke products adapted to the particular specifications of its customers.
